Basketball- Rules & Guidelines

Basketball
Each team has a squad of a maximum 12 players to choose from. Five of those players are allowed on the court at any one time, with unlimited substitutions.
  • Players can move the ball around the court by passing, tapping, throwing, rolling or dribbling.
  • DURATION - The game consists of 2 halves of 15 minutes each; with a 5-minute break at half-time.
  • SCORING: 2 point field goal- a shot made from anywhere during play inside the 3 pt arc.
  • SCORING: 3 point field goal- a shot made from anywhere outside the 3 pt arc.
  • SCORING: Free throw- 1 point is awarded to an unguarded shot taken from behind free the throw line while the clock is stopped.
  • SCORING:Dribbling- bouncing the ball with 1 hand using your fingertips instead of your palm so that it rebounds back to yourself (the only legal way to move with the ball)
  • WINNER:Winning team will be the one that scores the highest no of points.
  • WINNER:In case of a tie at the end of scheduled match time , each team will be given 5 free throws and the team with maximum no. of baskets wins.
  • WINNER:In case we still end up with a tie the round of 5 free throws continues until we get a winner.
  • Other Rules- If a team fails to turn-up even after 45 mins of the sheduled start time, match would be awarded to the opposite side.
