Cricket - Rules & Guidelines

Cricket

  • Participating teams are requested to be in the ground half-an-hour before the game starts.
  • A match is played between two sides. Each side shall consist of 11 players out of which minimum 2 ladies should be participating.
  • If no ladies or only one lady is/are participating then the respective side shall play the game with 9/10 members respectively.
  • All matches will consist of one innings per side, each innings being limited to a maximum of 12 overs.
  • No bowler shall bowl more than 3 overs in an innings.
  • Batsmen would be asked to retire after scoring 30 runs. Same batsman can resume batting after team has lost all 9 wickets.
  • Except LBW, all other rules are applicable.
  • If the scores are equal, each team will again play a 3 overs game. Team which scores highest runs in the allotted overs would be declared as winner.
  • In the event of of a ball during play being lost or unfit to play through normal use, the umpires shall allow it to be replaced.
  • If any of the side fail to turn-up even after 30 mins of the sheduled start time, match would be awarded to the opposite side.
  • Changes in the fixtures/schedules will not be entertained.

Groupings

  • Total 24 teams shall be participating in this event.
  • These shall be divided into eight different groups with 3 teams each. This shall be a round-robin league.
  • Top team from each group will qualify for the knockout stage which gets 8 teams to the quarter-finals.
  • In case of a three-way tie, Run Rate* would be taken into consideration.
    * Total Number of runs scored divided by total number of overs played per match
    * Total number of wickets lost.
  • All the qualified eight team will compete in a knockout stage to find/obtain place in the Semi-Finals.
  • Winners of the Semi-Finalists will play the Finals.
  • If the scores are equal, each team will again play a 3 overs game. Team which scores highest runs in the allotted overs would be declared as winner.
  • Finals shall be limited to a maximum of 16 overs per innings.
